A new annual landmark for French and British dermatology teams to share clinical expertise, present research, and build lasting scientific partnerships.

About the Symposium
The BRIDGE Derm Symposium was born from a shared ambition: to create a sustainable space for scientific and clinical exchange between French and British academic teams working in dermatology.
This initiative stems from the postdoctoral collaboration between Dr Frédéric Dezoteux and Prof Michael Ardern-Jones (University of Southampton), and is designed to grow into an annual alternating event between France and the United Kingdom.
Themes span cutaneous immunology, eosinophil biology, inflammatory skin diseases, and cutaneous oncology — with a deliberately broad and cross-disciplinary scope.
"The ambition of the BRIDGE Derm Symposium is to transform these interactions into a genuine scientific and clinical bridge between research centres, clinicians and industrial partners. We look forward to building this project together — collaborative, international, and enduring."
Programme Highlights
Comparative sessions between French and British clinical approaches to dermatology, allergy and immunology.
Oral communications in fundamental and clinical research — including a dedicated poster session and e-poster challenge.
Prizes for the best clinical communication and poster — especially for residents and junior clinicians.
A warm convivial dinner on the evening of 15 October — a perfect setting to build new collaborations.
An exclusive guided visit to research units and clinical departments at CHU de Lille on Friday afternoon.
The entire symposium is bilingual — an excellent opportunity to practice scientific English in a friendly setting!
Scientific Themes
The programme deliberately covers several key areas of contemporary dermatological research, favouring multidisciplinary dialogue.
A word from the Organising Committee
The BRIDGE Derm Symposium grew out of a strong ambition: to create a lasting space for scientific and clinical exchange between French and British academic teams involved in dermatological research and patient care.
This project builds on collaborations developed during a postdoctoral year in Southampton in the team of Prof Michael Ardern-Jones. That experience forged solid scientific links between our two countries, and initiated constructive dialogue with industrial partners committed to therapeutic innovation in dermatology.
Our ambition is to transform these interactions into a genuine scientific bridge between research centres, clinicians, and industry — spanning cutaneous immunology, eosinophil biology, inflammatory diseases, and cutaneous oncology.
Our goal is to build this into an enduring event, alternating between France and the UK, and progressively constituting a structured international scientific community around these themes.
